With Stage 1 bulk earthworks nearing completion, demolition of former SA Water treatment plant infrastructure will be undertaken between April and July 2024.
A South Australian owned, licenced and experienced contractor, GP & Sons, has been engaged to undertake the works. The works will be in accordance with a number of International Standards and licencing requirements relating to demolition and asbestos removal.
The first phase of works will involve the removal of a small amount of asbestos in the eaves of some buildings, equipment and pipes. During this phase, signs and barricades will be in place to delineate the asbestos work area. The work area is located a significant distance away from the adjoining residential neighbours. This phase will be completed in April 2024.
The demolition phase will commence in May and will involve the demolition of sheds, structures and pavements. Both heritage buildings are secured via temporary fencing to ensure the works do not impact on these buildings in anyway.
